Hi lovely people! πŸ’—

There is nothing quite like the comfort of a warm fire on a dark winter’s night. It’s a place to gather, to unwind, and to find a moment of peace. I wanted to capture the warm, cosy feeling of a glowing fireplace in my latest knitting design. I am so thrilled to finally share with you the Hearth Cowl!

This stranded colourwork cowl features a graphic modern flame motif that was a joy to design. For me the process of knitting a cowl is relaxing and meditative, but I wanted something that would challenge my skill of carrying longer floats at the back. The Hearth Cowl is exactly that and it is perfect for a beginner colourwork knitter to push their skills to the next level.

Key Features:

  • Engaging: The pattern uses a simple, repeating chart that is perfect for beginner stranded knitters looking to practice longer floats.
  • Versatile Styling – Designed to fit comfortably around the neck, it pairs equally well with casual sweaters or dressy coats
  • Hand Dyed Perfection – Choose a gorgeous hand dyed yarn for the main colour and pair it with a black solid to really show of the talent of your favourite hand dyers!

Materials:
Main Colour: 1 x 100g skein Totnes Yarns Polwarth DK in colour Hearth (225m / 100g)
Contrast Colour: 1 x 50g skein Drops Karisma in colour Black (50g / 100m)
3.50mm Circular Knitting Needleβ€”60cm length
Darning Needle
Scissors

Head over to Ravelry or Gumroad to add the pattern to your collection and start making it for someone in your life πŸ’—

What colours will you choose? Will you mimic the classic look of orange flames or choose something unexpected?

Best wishes,
Sam xox
