Hi lovely people! 💗

Have a warm cup of tea and come meet the Broken Hexes Cowl!

Shhh! Please don’t tell anyone it was inspired by some wallpaper I saw in a DIY shop 🙈

The Broken Hexes cowl is a two-strand colourwork design. The sample uses a dark semi-solid hand dyed yarn, with an undyed skein for contrast.

This particular sample used 1 x 100g skein Crush DK by Skein Queen in colour Abyss (100g / 225m) for the main colour, and 1 x 100g skein 49204A by Bluefaced Yarns (100g / 225m) for the contrast colour. But any two contrasting colours will work. And I held the contrast colour as the dominant colour when knitting the sample.

I also used a 3.5mm 60cm long circular knitting needle and those usual friends called scissors, darning needle, and stitch marker.

As with my other cowl designs, it is knit in the round from the bottom up, with a simple ribbed edge. The pattern instructions are written, but the chart for the colourwork motif is only in chart form.

If you’d like to add this pattern to your collection (and hopefully actually knit it one day!) click through to Ravelry now to get it >> https://ravel.me/broken-hexes-cowl

I hope it doesn’t take m 14 months before I get to publish my next design!

Best wishes,
Sam xox
