Preemie Sweetpea Cardigan
After my Mum introduced me to the Warm Baby Project charity, I wanted to help by making some short-sleeved cardigans similar to my Sweetpea Cardigan design.
Most charities like this prefer acrylic yarn (for easy care) in a double knit weight (seems to be the more popular weight), and so, with a few resizing calculations, the Preemie Sweetpea Cardigan was created.
This is a quick and simple design that looks good in any colour. One piece. No seams. Finished in a day or less.
And best of all, it is a forever free pattern. You can find the pattern free further below and on Ravelry.

- 4.00 mm Knitting Needle
- 4 x Buttons
- 1 x Darning Needle

- Selvedge Edge
Sizing:
Gauge: 20 sts x 28 rows over 10cm x 10cm of stocking stitch worked flat on 4.00mm needles unblocked.
Final Size: 32cm chest circumference – preemie – up to 6lbs approx.
