I am pleased to announce that the Preemie Broken Checkerboard Cardigan Knitting pattern has now been released on Gumroad, and further below.
I wasn’t even sure if I should write this up when I first made it since it’s very similar to my Preemie Sweetpea Cardigan pattern.
However due to rather a lot of requests I did.
This is a quick and simple design that looks good in any colour. One piece. No seams. Finished in approximately 3-4 hours.
And best of all, it is a true pay what you want pattern. You can find the pattern free further below and on Gumroad.

- Any standard DK weight yarn of your choice (300m/ 100g)
- 4.00 mm Knitting Needle
- 4/5 x Buttons
- 1 x Darning Needle

Sizing:
Gauge: 20 sts x 28 rows over 10cm x 10cm of stocking stitch worked flat on 4.00mm needles unblocked.
Final Size: 32cm chest circumference – medium preemie – 3-4lbs approx/ 36cm chest circumference – large preemie – 5-6lbs approx.
