Hi there!

Not that long ago I wrote about a charity I’ve been making some squares for. And a few more posts since.

If you’ve missed the posts you can read about the charity here… Hug in a Blanket.

And it even inspired this tutorial: How to Create an Amazing Applique Alphabet.

Anyway… I’ve been creating lots of textured squares, so I figured I’d write down the exact stitches I’ve been using so you can create them too.

All five patterns have been included in one downloadable PDF that’s completely free. So long as your garter stitch square comes out the same size as mine, the other four should too.

This free PDF download contains written instructions for five different textured 6″ squares:

  • Garter Stitch (yes even that creates texture)
  • Diagonal Rib Stitch
  • Broken Checkerboard Stitch
  • Seed Stitch
  • Horizontal Rib Stitch

Perfect for a beginner learning some new stitches, a way to use up some leftover stash for a multi-textured blanket, or for blanket squares you are donating to a charity.

Are you overwhelmed by how much you need and want to knit?

Knitting is NOT always relaxing. Knitting can be a source of stress too.

The “Knitting Netherspace” is the primary technique I use every day to help reduce and eliminate stress.

As well as an explanation of what it is, the eight-step checklist included in this eBook will help you reach the realm in your sub-conscious, that I call the Knitting Netherspace, that brings with it new feelings of clarity, calmness, and happiness to your daily life.
